How much waste? It still remains to be seen.

Games Monitor reported that the ground in area of the London 2012 Olympics is contaminated with chemical and nuclear waste, as well as unexploded bombs from the Second World War.

Another issue for the builders to contend with is the vast areas covered with Japanese knotweed, an invasive species that has to be removed with great care (and legally).
