Rocking chairs of doom

Wal-Mart has issued a recall on 643,000 love seats and rocking chairs after people reported flying backward out of their chairs and suffering horrible injuries.

One pregnant woman started having contractions after she flipped over in her Mainstays porch rocking chair. Other injuries include deep cuts, a slight concussion, fractured ribs, wrist sprains, and a shoulder joint tear.

Even worse, many of these accidents happened while people were trying out the rocking chairs in Wal-Mart stores.

The problem is due to poor construction and over-curvature of the chairs' runners, which causes instability, imbalance, fracturing of the wood, and tipping problems.

Wal-Mart's online store notes that the Mainstays rocker is "Sure to become everyone's favorite chair."
