Rodent Discovered in 1999 Makes News Today

The news reports state that this is a new discovery, impying recent, as in this year or late last year. Yet this little fella was first discovered in 1999. Not to recent. Lets see counting on my fingers that is eight years ago. And it is only making headlines today. A strikingly unusual animal was recently discovered in the cloud-forests of Peru.
