The Rove Rap (a musical improv scene performed at the Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner, which was hosted by comedians Brad Sherwood and Colin Mochrie) is everywhere...and it's drawing everything from ire to a hearty chuckle and back again. Was this a well-played cheeky improv move from the Whose Line Is It, Anyway? boys? Or is it something more sinister--Karl Rove thinking he's a jocular, fun guy to be around?

See the original video and two responses from YouTube users.

And here are some bloggers' two cents:

But wait - there's more. You want to know why the elite Washington press corpse just can't seem to remove their suction cups from the Bush regime? It's events like the correspondent's dinner. Where else are you going to see something like this from Karl Rove? (Surgeon General's Warning: please - before viewing, have eyewash and brain bleach available.)

Must. Wash. Brain.

Last night Bird and I watched Olbermann (well, half of it, since I went to bed at 8:30) and we saw a clip of Karl Rove dancing around, doing some sort of little rap routine. It was lame and stupid, and frankly, creepy. I can have a laugh now and then at something politicians do, even when I disagree with them, but there's something about him that makes my skin crawl. I feel the same way about Mitt Romney.
A comedian raps, while Rove does what appears to be the Scissor Dance for the amusement of President Bush. Given the situation in Iraq and Iran, the phrase "fiddling while Rome burns" immediately comes to mind.
"I'm MC Rove!"

Apparently Karl likes to collect stamps and tear the heads off small animals. I'm not even gonna go there…
