The eSkwela project by the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT),
in cooperation with the Asia Pacific Economic Council (APEC) Education
Foundation, aims to provide ICT-enhanced education for Filipino out-of-school
youth (OSY) and adults.

The program hopes to bridge the digital divide among the poor and
remote communities in the Philippines by providing them with a free
facility and learning materials.

If successful, the eSkwela pilot would be extended to major urban areas across the country.

(In a country where there are more youth who never finished their
education due to poverty and high tuition rates, this is a welcome news
for everyone in the Philippines.)

that's great..out of school youth should take the opportunity..a lot of youth for today neveer brought to school by parents since they are not financially stable...i just hope things would be as better for the filipinos as well as for their education..in these modern days, they should know technological devices that are in trend and they should be willingly capable of learning things.. computer subject is important for their learning process, as they can learn the basics until they can access on the internet with devices, news, cars (ford wheels), celebrities, environmental problems, political issues, etc.

Hi. Thank you for your high praise on the project. If you would like to know more about it, please visit our wiki at http://eskwela.wikispaces.com.

We do appreciate the support - more so, we welcome communities, groups, and individuals who would like to help us widen the reach of eSkwela so that we could serve more OSYAs in the process.
