Newspaper Offers Reward for Slain Russian Journalist's Killers

Anna MR writes, "Over a thousand people gathered outside the Russian Embassy in Helsinki
to light a candle in memory of Anna Politkovskaja, the war reporter and
outspoken critic of the Putin government murdered on Saturday."

Mosdave, a British born Australian living in Russia wrote,

"Yesterday the outspoken anti-Putin journalist Anna Politkovskaya was
murdered in the lift of her apartment building which is just a couple
of streets from where I live in Moscow. She was killed with three
bullets to the body and one to the head.Today many of her supporters
gathered for a demonstration at Pushinskaya Square in Moscow. I admired
her courage in speaking out about certain government actions she felt
were wrong, particularly the situation in Chechnya.Few people expect
the murderer to be found given the fact that many other recent
'contract killings' in Russia of high profile figures have gone
unsolved."
