Saddam Hussein’s eldest daughter Raghad joined a sit-in today in the Jordanian capital Amman as protests grew around the Arab world over the hanging of Iraq’s former leader Saddam Hussein and the grim video images of the execution that have appeared online.

In Amman, hundreds of protesters including Islamists, deputies and opposition figures gathered in front of a building in where a grouping of 14 professional unions is based, carrying pictures of Saddam and chanting anti-American and pro-Saddam slogans. Many in the Arab world have hailed Saddam for his tough political stance towards the United States and Israel.
