Sam the Record Man, the iconic Toronto store where generations of music lovers bought their first records, sells off its contents Wednesday.

Hundreds of pieces of rock 'n' roll memorabilia, including three four-metre neon discs, vintage furniture and other fittings, is being auctioned off by Bonaco Sales Ltd.

The one-day sale will include more than 100 autographed posters, framed gold and platinum records, and pictures of Elvis, Patsy Cline and other artists

How awesome would it be to have those decks at your next party? My mom shopped at Sam the Record Man as a girl-- she hearly wept when she heard that it would be closing, as it's a focal point of her rock 'n' roll teenage memories.

It's very sad. I used to spend nearly every summer weekend in Toronto as a teen and Sams was always a stop on the trip.

Man, that's depressing. Sam's is (soon to be "was") awesome.
