Remember all of those great clips of wacky Japanese TV shows? What about Japanese anime and movies? According to ArsTechnica, the Japan Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC), has ordered YouTube to remove around 30,000 unauthorized videos. This is the first mass removal of content from YouTube. This is what many of us were afraid of when Google bought YouTube, that now they were owned by someone with money, copyright issues would rear their ugly head.

It's not only Japanese media companies who are pressuring YouTube. The English Premier League is threatening bloggers who post links to YouTube videos. Plus, YouTube itself has been removing goal highlights itself.
