I find it appauling that our Government intervened in this personal matter that thousands of families deal with daily. Everything the Government did was completely unconstitutional, not to mention, Bush's record sure isn't exemplary when it comes to caring about human life. On 9/11 Bush sat & finished 'My Pet Goat' while thousands of people were dying, before disappearing the entire day not addressing the worst tragedy our nation has ever seen. He later said to one child who asked him what went thru his mind when he 1st heard about the attacks on the WTC. Bush replied, "When I walked into the school facility, there was a television on, where I saw the first plane hit." This is a bold faced lie in that the only footage of the 1st plane hitting the tower was taken by the foreign journalists doing a piece on a firehouse and it was not released for public view for quite a long time after 9/11. It did not air live on t.v. as he stated. Why would Bush do everything he could to avoid an investigation into the attacks of 9/11? After the Tsunami, he did not budge from his Texas ranch or make any public statement for many days while the death toll climbed to astronomical proportions. Yet, for Terry Schiavo's case, which was already very public, he got up in the middle of the night to return to Washington D.C., flew the members of the house in (on private planes paid for by our tax dollars) to sign a law only for her, to help keep her alive. Obviously, Bush is pro-life, right? Wasn't the real reason for this whole Schiavo law about pro-life leading right into the overturn of Roe v. Wade and anti-abortion? Since Bush is so pro-life,why when Bush was in Texas before he fled to Wash. D.C., under the law he signed, did an infant have their life-support tube pulled against the mother's wishes? Possibly because they didn't have the money to pay the medical bills? Possibly because they were african-american and hardly a poster child for Bush's base? Possibly because the law Bush signed into law gave the medical facility or the Dr's the power to do so over the parent or legal guardian's wishes? This infants case didn't even make the news, nor does any of the thousands of Terry Schiavo's that have their tubes pulled. Does this make sense to anyone? Well, it sure took the focus & news off all of Tom Delay's indictments & criminal acts, the fact that Bush's grand SS overhaul $$ scheme is basically DOA, the fact that Iraq is a horrific failure and plans for an air assault on Iran are signed and ready to go in June didn't it!
