Early projections show the St. Cloud school district needs to eliminate $1 million from its 2007-08 budget.

Those projections use Gov. Tim Pawlenty's proposal for state education funding. They project no changes to special-education funding and a slight drop in enrollment. It would be a worst-case scenario, said Kevin Januszewski, director of business services.

The district also has $870,000 in state and federal grants that expire and will have to be eliminated, Januszewski said.
