Real name is Srinivasan Ramalingam, but prefer to be called "Seenu" for simplicity. Originally from the fastest growing city in the world - Bangalore, India. Currently reside in Miami, Florida - USA. I work for the hospitality industry and I love it.

Around ten years back, I realised that I have a deep passion for photography, but never could pursue it as I really could not afford even a smple camera for myself, so I always borrowed cameras from family or friends when I went on vacations, day trips or at special occasions/events. I did manage to take some decent pictures with the borrowed point and shoot cameras.

Four years back is when I decided to invest some money into my passion. Purchased a film SLR for beginners - Canon EOS Rebel Ti kit that came with a Wide Angle Zoom Lens Canon EF 28-90mm 1:4-5.6 II. Later I purchased a Telephoto Lense - Sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 for close ups.

With the new camera, I was initially overwhelmed with all its features, and only used it on auto mode. Mostly took pictues at social events and a few on vacations. I took up photography as a serious hobby around when I signed up for a class in Fall 2006 at Florida International University for a beginners class in black and white photography. My professor Richard La Barbera was very encouraging and always spent time teaching me more than what was required for a beginner student. He has been very inspirational to me. It was during my photography class that I learnt to use my camera to all its worth, and the wonderful features a SLR comes with.

I will continue with black and white photography, but will also do some color as well. You might notice that most of my pictures are detail oriented or landscapes, and for this reason alone, all film photographs posted on this site were shot using the Canon EOS Rebel Ti with the Wide Angle Zoom Lense. Film used was B&W Kodak TriX 400ASA, but set to 200 on the camera. Only a few pictures were shot using the Telephoto Lense. Another fact is that flash was never used on any of my pictures. I mostly use natural light or light from existing sources around the subject. My subjects are mostly natural lanscapes, archietectural structures, reflection of objects on water, and abstract themes.
