Semi vs. Bus: 3 Injured in Chicago Crash
The only good news here is that nobody was killed; had this taken place later in the day it would have been much, much worse, exacerbated by the leaks in the semi's fuel tanks.
At least three people were injured early today in a crash involving a CTA bus, a truck and several cars on Chicago's South Side, police said. The accident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. at the intersection of Archer and Ashland Avenues, in the city's Bridgeport neighborhood, Officer David Banks said.
Preliminary information indicated a CTA bus, semi-trailer truck, and three cars were all involved in the crash, and one of the cars rolled over, Banks said. Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available.
Five ambulances were called to the scene. Two people were taken in serious to critical condition to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, while a third patient was transported in an unknown condition to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, police said.
