The cause for SHAQs divorce is reportedly money, the Miami Herald reports. Shaunie O'Neal, who had access to Shaquille's money, is being required to provide "correct accounting of all money, funds, stocks, bonds, and other securities."
According to the petition the "marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken," while Shaq accuses his estranged wife of being ''secretive about her assets, particularly with respect to certain properties owned or titled in either [her] name alone or in other entities,'' and refers to the Star Island mansion as "the former marital home," Miami Herald reported.
Shaq, the most famous basketball player in the world, and currently with the Miami Heat filed for divorce from his wife of five years today. He has four children aged 7-1 with Shaunie O'Neal. His home on Miami Beach's Star island is for sale for $32 million.

Uh...hummm....fame is fleeting, but I believe Kobe Bryant could be considered the "most famous" player. According to HoopsInsider, as of Jan. 2007, Kobe had the best selling jersey.
As far as the divorce...no surprises here.

I'm glad he filed for divorce. That just goes to show that money & marriage don't mix. Evidently, she only married him because of who he is and all that he has-----a classic case of a gold-digger gone wild. Well this time, the gold-digger loses...big time! You go, Shaq! I feel bad for the kids because they couldn't help their mother being a gold-digging skank. She probably spent some of his money on her girlfriends and female family members, too. She shouldn't get a dime or a dollar. Any money her lawyer will try and get from him in alimony or child support was already spent by her. In the prophetic words of the 90s R & B group, BBD (BevBivDevoe): "Never trust a big butt and a smile, that girl is poison!"
