I never saw this masterful work at Shinjuku station, but check it out. I am so glad that Mr. Sato is at work on a documentary, as I am looking forward to that tremendously. But in the meantime, look at these images. I am gathering from this writeup on Pink Tentacle (the amazing Pink Tentacle, which always has incredible news and observations) that Mr. Sato's engagement with this subject is casual, one of passion and interest rather than commission, which just makes it all the more amazing and cool.

If, over the past several years, you have had the privilege of joining the 3.3 million people that pass through Tokyo’s Shinjuku station each day, you may have observed the work of Mr. Sato. A construction worker by trade, Sato uses strips of adhesive tape to create elaborate makeshift signs that help people navigate the temporary chaos of ongoing renovation work at Shinjuku station.
