We expected this type of sell-out from Senator
McCain, and even from Border Patrol Chief David Aguilar, but we didn’t
expect it from Senator Kyl. We believed him to be a man of his word, in
a political atmosphere where ones word doesn’t mean much anymore. Is it any wonder that morale in the BP
continuously erodes to levels never thought possible? Can you imagine
telling Highway Patrolmen that drag racers and drunk drivers should be
released without penalty and rewarded with continued driving privileges
for breaking the law?…”Read their entire opinion HERE
More travesty at the border. For
God’s sake what will it take for American citizens and American Border
Patrol Agents to be treated as they so deserve??? Maybe we should place
US Millitary at the border. Heh. Would the outcome be the same?
article from Border Patrol Local 2544
04-23-07 Today it was
announced that the Cochise County Attorney’s Office will charge a
Border Patrol agent with 1st Degree Murder, along with 3 other State
charges. This stems from a shooting incident near Naco in January. The
Mexican Consulate has been involved in this “investigation” from the
beginning. The “witnesses” to this incident are two brothers and a
sister-in-law of the deceased alien who were coached by the Mexican
Consulate prior to speaking with Cochise County investigators. Three
other witnesses who weren’t related to the deceased alien were sent
back to Mexico (apparently, impartiality had no place in this
investigation). We will not abandon this agent in his greatest time of
need. When his side of the story comes out, we hope that people will
see that he did nothing wrong. Please keep in mind that he hasn’t had
the opportunity to tell his story yet. This pattern of prosecuting
Border Patrol agents for doing their jobs is disturbing, to say the
least. The usual brigade of Border Patrol haters (the open borders
crowd who would just as soon see us all in jail so that the country can
be flooded with illegal aliens) will jump on this bandwagon and try to
get every bit of cheap clout they can muster. They love any opportunity
to bash Border Patrol agents. All the Arizona Daily Star can muster for
“other killings” by Border Patrol agents are a 1992 incident in which
the agent was found innocent in both criminal and civil rights trials,
and a 2005 incident where charges were brought without merit against
another agent. During this time period many hundreds of thousands of
arrests have been performed by Border Patrol agents without incident.
The Union will provide attorneys for this agent through the closure of
the case if the Federal government decides not to represent him. Read
an article here and another article here.
Notice how Mexican government officials are now talking up the “rule of
law” on “both sides of the border” - something they are very selective
about. Their hypocrisy is shameful. A recent video from an El Centro
Border Patrol shooting, which clearly shows an illegal alien about to
bean a Border Patrol agent with a rock, was not enough to convince the
Mexican Consulate that the shooting was justified. Even after seeing it
for themselves they demand action be taken against the agent. They
clearly believe we have no right to defend ourselves. Watch the video here. See prior comments on the Naco shooting below in italics.
Naco Shooting Investigation Thoroughly Bungled
02-19-07 After the recent shooting incident in Naco, managers and investigators failed to separate the witnesses,
and allowed them to “get their stories straight” before speaking to the
Mexican Consulate. “Investigation 101″ mandates that you immediately
separate ALL witnesses so that they can’t conspire. You transport them
separately. Then, if separated witnesses give wildly diverse stories
about what happened you know that someone is not being truthful. In
this case, the Mexican Consulate’s star witnesses are all related to the alleged “victim”.
Further, while management claims they have completed a “thorough
investigation” into the matter of the Mexican Consulate improperly
gaining access to witnesses prior to anyone from law enforcement, they inexplicably failed to speak with either of the rank-and-file agents present that day.
The only people they interviewed that we’re aware of are managers.
Again, “investigation 101″ mandates that you speak with all available
witnesses, not just those who are likely to support your preferred
version of events. A short written statement from the agents is
insufficient in this case. Other questions have arisen since the agents
originally submitted their statements. Those questions require
clarification.
