Early Thursday morning Sienna Plantation residents in Missouri City, TX were awakened to the sound of a loud explosion in the nearby sister master-planned golfing community of Quail Valley.
Ann Smith was at home alone when the apparent gas leak leading to the demolition of her home occurred (nothing is left). Amazingly this destruction left Ann virtually untouched and in the backyard. . .

Here's one blog comment that came into a local site from an apparent neighbor's experience with this (first hand account):
9 Barbara Sincerbox - Jan 26, 09:08 am
I live across the street from Ann. My daughter had gone to bed for the night. I was in my room on the computer. My husband was in the office on another computer doing some work. I heard the explosion and then before my eyes saw the large window in my room explode and send flying glass flying through the room. The blast caused the plantation shutters in the window to fly open and the glass from the window came flying through.
I didn’t know what had happened but instantly thought it was an explosion of some sort. I didn’t know if it was over and started yelling for my husband. He yelled back at me to come quick. Ann’s house was gone! When I looked out the shattered window I saw her stone and mortar chimney rising out of a pile of rubble with a few flames starting in the rubble. We both instantly thought our neighbor Ann was dead.
All the neighbors began pouring out into the streets. As I ran out I absurdly yelled at people to stay back. It could explode again. My neighbor Judy said her husband Jim was over there looking for Ann. I looked at her in horror and asked if she had been home. I don’t know when I found out she had survived. But when I did I was completely amazed. It seems that no other explanation is possible but that God’s divine hand had determined it was not her time.
The blast blew out nearly all the windows in our home, damaged our front door and solid wood garage door. Some of the brick veneer fell off the side of our garage. We won’t know until we can return home what other damage we sustained.
But I looked at the obliterated mass of rubble that was Ann’s home and send prayers of thanksgiving to God no one was seriously injured.
