I've just heard through the administration at SFU Surrey that the Skytrain may go on strike this Friday. Translink says to listen to the radio for confirmation. Apparently the members of CUPE Local 7000 voted 90 percent in favour of the strike and the Skytrain has only gone on strike once in its history. (That only lasted a day.)

This would be disasterous for the campus. It's got to be at least 75 percent of students who depend on the skytrain for transportation to Surrey. As someone who spent 3 hours getting home from Surrey the day the skytrain was off the rails due to snow, I am feeling this issue in a big way.
