Slow Housing Market Prompts Home Seller To Try Something Extreme
With the slowing housing market home owners are trying many
different things to get their property sold.
I am one of them. After having
our house on the market for months using a local real estate agent, our house
has still not sold. Of course we are not
alone, and we know it. We have already moved
into our new house and the one we are trying to sell is still sitting empty. We are now making two mortgage payments. Of course we are not alone, and we know it.
So you may be asking “what are you doing that is extreme”. I setup my own Goodyear Arizona Real Estate website, with its own domain
name, to try and sell my house. I see
most real estate agents are using the internet for many of their leads. I know how to setup a website so I thought I’d
give it a go. How long of a try will
depend on if I can actually get any people to visit my site. So I’ve built it, now will they come?
Is our house over priced?
I don’t think so. We’ve lowered
it and watched others lower their prices as well. But should we keep lowering it until it sells? I don’t think so and here is why. After watching the immediate market of resale
homes for sale in Estrella Mountain Ranch for the last couple of months I
noticed something. If you keep lowering
your price, it does not mean it will sell.
I’ve seen some people lower their prices significantly only to see
similar homes sell for $20,000 or more.
Why? I don’t know, is it the
staging of furniture, nicer upgrades, better views? I think it’s all of those and just personal
taste and gut feel for when someone walks in the house.
The house we are trying to sell was built in 2001. Not that old, however a few months before we
moved we got puppies. They were mostly
kept to a certain area and of course they had some “accidents” while potty
training. Now we didn’t think it was
that bad, but apparently it was. So we
just recently had the carpet replaced in that room with a nice Berber. Plus we had an interior designer come it and
she recommended some lighting changes, so we made some more upgrades (wish we
would have done that a couple of years ago so we could have enjoyed them – note
to self – don’t wait for upgrades on current house).
So now I think the house looks really good and is
ready to sell. I also feel it is priced
right. So if you are looking for a
resale house for sale in Goodyear,
Arizona let us know!
