A £500,000 fund has been established to give immediate help to smaller businesses affected by the floods.

The East Midlands Development Agency (Emda) said many firms had lost stock or seen trade fall away and needed help in the short term to recover.

Smaller businesses can apply for up to £2,500 and an advisor will help with the process and ensure there is no duplication with insurance claims.

Emda said applications should be made via Business Link by the end of July.
