Small to Medium Businesses have already
taken to VoIP; the inherent cost advantages offered by the technology
were a major attraction for SMBs to switch to VoIP from PSTN during
2006. According to the Yankee Group, the VoIP market for SMBs will be worth $1.3 billion in 2009 from the mere $200 million of 2005.

The SMBs in America are currently being serviced by around 200
individual companies and the coming years will see several rounds of
consolidation as competition heats up and the players try to acquire a
national presence. At present, only a handful of VoIP service providers
have a very strong regional presence with few being established
nation-wide.

VoIP is poised to become a unified platform for customizable and
intelligent communication devices. There are many players out there
looking to duplicate the success of market leader Vonage. Vonage is looking to streak ahead this year with their potentially risky strategy of providing free wifi hotspots across the USA with Earthlink. Lets see if it pays off. Keep on top of VoIP news at www.voiproar.com
