Smoking Is Now Banned In All Parts Of The UK and Ireland

England is now by law a smoke-free zone after the introduction of a smoking ban making it illegal to light up in enclosed public places came into force today.

Virtually all enclosed public places are now smokefree; this includes offices, warehouses, factories, pubs, cafes, railway stations, working vehicles and leisure centres.

England is the final part of the British Isles to introduce a ban, after Wales and Northern Ireland in April and Scotland last March. The Republic of Ireland banned smoking smoking about  three years ago.

good stuff:

infomatique,  Good stuff. Its not causing any real problems, most people just go
outside. Should be good for umbrella sales.

BREAKING:

That's a pretty massive sea change for pub culture... I doubt, though, that the punters will prefer the "new" smell much.

I have not used a pub since they introduced the ban 30 days ago instead I stayed in and added a page to my website about the history of smoking in the UK . While enjoying a beer and several cigarettes!
