Today, the street is a little-used thoroughfare of small offices and access doors. Its quietness can still evoke thoughts of lurking pickpockets.

Forgotten places
The Londonist series is pretty good, must read the whole lot. My personal take on alleyways, unlike theirs, tends to feature on those outside Central London, like Haringey Passage (pictured). That's because these are often forgotten places, frequently not refurbished in a long time, often with old-style London pavements and obsolete street furniture. Haringey Passage, for example, harbours no less than four remnants of the old arclights that once were used to light London before incandescent light took over in the early 20th century. This is also quite likely the longest alley in Greater London.
