Sunday Feb 8, 2009 at Torrie Pines, Nick Watney who was tied for the lead going into the 18th hole, birdied on the PAR 5. As a result he was able to take control and land his second PGA tour victory of his career.

He ranks 4th in Money Leaders on the PGA TOUR. Nicks stats for this year so far are:

Major players in this years contest included Camilo Villegas, who suffered a setback bogey on the 17th and tied for 3rd. Lucas Glover (who has had the best start to a season in 2009) the other half of the tie for 3rd. John  Rollins (who has been working on his person and his game and it shows) took the runner up slot.

Mickelson  once again struggled and ended the tournament with a tie for 42nd, Ouch!

Along with Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, was also not on the scene. Vijay makes his return to the PGA TOUR this week at Pebble Beach after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in early January. Tiger might be making an appearence at Pebble Beach as well but that is not confirmed.
