Canada Cup Floorball Championship

The City of Richmond, and the spectacular Richmond Oval will play host to this year's Canadian National Floorball Championships. Last year, they were held in Calgary, Alberta and the members of Team BC were crowned Canadian Champions. We look forward to hosting the country's best players, both men and women, from Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and BC

"With the Olympics coming to Vancouver, and the opening of the Richmond Oval in 2009 pre-Olympics 2010, Floorball Canada decided that the venue would trump any decision to annually move the event from west to east. This is a tremendous opportunity to display an inspiring Olympic facility to both the Canadian Floorball and the local ball hockey communities. It is also a chance for us to test the inner workings of the city of Richmond as they prepare for 2010, and most importantly, for us at BC Floorball and Floorball Canada...this is a showcase of Floorball and what the sport is all about" says Greg Beaudin, President of BC Floorball and Director of Floorball Canada.

We also have the unique privilege to host the Men's National Team from India
coming to compete in a series of friendly matches.

BCFF has been working hard to make this a great, memorable event for
not only our guests, but also for our whole BCFF community. There are
lots of ways for everyone to get involved, such as coming out
to take in the action, cheering on team BC, attending the "meet and
greet" party to give our visitors a big BC welcome, playing in one of
the exhibition games or volunteering to help with running the event.

Weekend schedule will be posted on BCFF website soon.

In addition to the games, we are co-hosting a Floorball Seminar for Coaches, Refs, and Sport Administrators. The International Floorball Federation, based in Helsinki, Finland, is putting on the workshops. The seminar/workshops are ideal for P/E teachers, Hockey Coaches and Community Center-Sport Programmers who wish to learn more about this provisional Olympic sport. http://bcffseminar.eventbrite.com/

Team BC will feature local U19 Team Canada Players and Youth Hockey standouts, Malcolm McKinney and Lyndon Stanwood. Hockey Canada will also take center stage on Friday the 17th, featuring showcase games for their Hockey Canada Skills Academy students.

Show your pride in BC and help make this the best Floorball NATIONALS
to date. Spectators are welcome to come out and watch all the games!

Yes, Floorball is really really fun.  I've played every brand of hockey there is, and lots of it,  I love Floorball for so many reasons...

Floorball has a real international appeal, it's ultra creative and it's the soccer of hockey's, as far as accessibility and affordability.
