The 2010 Australian Open, first Grand Slam event of the year, is reaching the quarter-finals stage in Melbourne, Australia. The Australian Open 2010 bracket is now known and will feature the best in the game competing for the prestigious title.

Swiss Roger Federer will meet Nikolai Davydenko of Russia. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic of Serbia will face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France. American Andy Roddick will take on Marin Cilic of Croatia. And, Scotland's Andy Murray will play against last season's winner Rafael Nadal of Spain, who no doubt will try to re-gain his title. However, at least two other men are coveting to re-claim the prize - Novak Djokovic won in 2008 and Roger Federer won two consecutive titles in 2006 and 2007. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was also a runner-up to Djokovic in 2008, so he too has his appetite whetted. Fernando Gonzalez of Chile and Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina were left out in the fourth round.

In the women's competition, defending champion and four-time Australian Open Champion American Serena Williams will meet Victoria Azarenka of Belarus. Li Na of China will face Venus Williams of the U.S. Justine Henin of Belgium will go against Russian Nadia Petrova. Finally, another Chinese athlete Zheng Jie will face Maria Kirilenko of Russia. Chinese women have surprised tennis fans with their advance into the quarter-finals, while big-fish names like World No. 2 Dinara Safina of Russia and Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark went out earlier. The 2008 Australian Open champ Maria Sharapova puzzled many when she was eliminated in the very first round.

The winners of the 2010 Australian Open will be known on January 31.
