Count it. Alabama  beats Texas 37-21 for the 2010 BCS National Football Championship

For the Texas Longhorns the 2010 BCS National Football Championship was a matter of what if?

What if star Texas quarterback Colt McCoy did not get injured in the first half of the game, forcing back up Garret Gilbert to play the rest of the game?

What if Texas got what appeared to be pass interference calls late in the game break their way?

Not matter, Alabama led by Mark Ingram shrugged off the Heisman curse and plowed their way to a win to the 37-21 victory. Ingram had a 116 yards on the ground and two touchdowns.

All Colt McCoy could do was cheer his team on from the sidelines. And for Texas there was a small glimmer of hope, late in the game as they pulled ever so close, with Gilbert throwing for two late fourth quarter touchdowns.

Then the Crimson Tide rolled in and forced Gilbert to fumble - game over.

There was nothing pretty about this game just boots to the ground football. Alabama is just fine by that. Oh, yes Alabama covered the spread
