2010 World Junior Hockey Tournament Begins In Saskatoon, Canada

The 2010 IIHF World Junior Tournament began today in Saskatoon, Canada. The championships will take place December 26 to January 5.

The tournament took off today with Canada vs. Latvia game, in which Canada outscored Latvia 16-0. Next up, team Canada will face Switzerland, Slovakia and USA as part of Group A matches. The game between Slovakia and the United States is still ongoing with a tie 2-2. In Group B, Sweden faced Czech Republic, winning 10-1. And, team Russia crashed Austria 6-2.

Group B consists of:

Austria
Czech Republic
Finland
Russia
Sweden

Canada will host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games February 12-28, and is one of the favourites for the gold medal in the men's ice hockey.
