2011 Panamerican Games Torch Relay in Mexico

La Paz Baja California Sur Mexico
The city of La Paz experienced something unusual: 73 torch bearers among them kids, athletes, and local officials ran 20 kilometers as people and school students came out to greet them.
The Panamerican Games will be held in Guadalajara Mexico and the Torch Relay has begun.
Enya Kassandra Borjes Flores who is not only a very young and beautiful torch bearer from La Paz but an excellent athlete, a good student and an excellent daughter talks to us:
Pat Garcia: How where you chosen to participate as a carrier of the 2011 Panamerican Games Torch?
Kass: Well, there were three types of selections 1) by the state 2) by the sponsors 3) internet by COPAG ( The Panamerican Organization Comitee in Guadalajara.
Pat Garcia: You have been competing and practicing a sport discipline in La Paz and that ´s why you were chosen. What´s your sport, how long have you been practicing and what did it mean for you to be chosen?
Kass: I started practicing gymnastics 5 and a half years ago at the GUM. I´m very grateful for this unique opportunity for Mexico and most of all for La Paz... it was awesome to run at the most beautiful place in the city " The Malecon".
Pat Garcia: What advise would you give to young people in our country?
Kass: To look for something to do, it doesn´t matter if it´s a sport or something cultural, just to spend their free time doing something so they wont be bored.
Now Mexico is growing and in every event, whichever it is, Mexico is sending someone, for example in the past there weren´t many athletes participating, now we are recognized in Tae Kwon do, Diving, Boxing, Pentathlon, and different Para Olympic Disciplines.
Pat Garcia: Is there anything you would like to express to the world, now that you have this opportunity?
Kass: mm just that if the door is open for those opportunities walk through it and you wont regret it.
