2012 Super Bowl: Who is Singing the National Anthem?

Kelly Clarkson will be singing the National Anthem to begin Super Bowl 2012.

It’s an honor to be asked to sing the national anthem at any sporting event, but to score an event as big as the Super Bowl should make Kelly Clarkson feel 'super' special.

The original American Idol winner has been asked to sing the Star Spangled Banner at the February 5th 2012 Super Bowl.

Clarkson has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and had more than a half-dozen singles reach the top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100.

At last year's Super Bowl between the Packers and Steelers, Christina Aguilera “flubbed a line” (A.K.A. totally botched) in the National Anthem.

Great singer or not, I think we can all agree that as long as Kelly Clarkson gets the words right, it’s a respectable gig for her.
