Squirrel Hijacks US Open Match
The action at the 2012 US Open just doesn't stop... until a squirrel stops it. On August 29, the match between Julien Benneteau and Olivier Rochus was stopped when a squirrel darted onto the court.
A barrage of tennis balls doesn't scare him off, and neither do some well-meaning volunteers who think they can catch a squirrel with their bare hands. Eventually the interrupting squirrel leaves of his own accord... but he'd be back.
The announcers do a great job switching from sportscaster to nature-documentary mode. Here's the US Open interrupting squirrel video.
We wonder aloud if Interrupting Squirrel was paying tribute to the original Crasher Squirrel.
