India gone down in the first test by Australia but their attitude of winning the test is not been hurt anyway , Instead they are Word gmae with Australia now. With 2008 just started , India and Australia are ready for the first battle of 2008 in Sydney. As 2008 started Indian player are ready to take and give good fight to Australia. They accepted that Australian were 1 step ahead them and they werent able to understand the plan of Australian Team at all. But now they will give a good fight not only to save the Test series but also to stop Australian Victory march at any cost.
Zaheer on Monday said that 1st Test was in 2007 and its history and they are waiting eagerly for 2008 to give a good fight in remaining tests in the series. Zaheer khan's attitude really showing what Indian team is planning . Its not like the Indian team in past which would have become depressed and would be looking to save the next three tests but is looking like a new Indian team which is eager for victory only.
Australia will be looking to eager for winning the second test. They got one day extra after winning the first test only in 34 days and they will be not in mood to do any mistake which will cost them 2nd Test. Johnson is eager for second test after astonishing performance in first test which will become a bad nightmare for Indian batsmen. He was a bit concern about his performance before the first test but now after gaining the confidence he is ready for this battle series. Hogg two who looked impressive with his spinning delivery.
Indian Team's main problem with opening slot . The opening pair problem is not new to Indian manager which in 2007 was abit less but as 2007 ended it rised again. Dinesh Karthik who played role as opening batsmen is struggling with his form looked impressive in 2007 . He started as opening batsman in start of 2007 against West Indies , put six 50's in six test lost the rythum against Pakistan which made Yuvraj to prove that He is vital part of Indian Team. To add more the problem Jaffer too look strugling against Australia. TO solve this problem ,Dravid was sent to open the innings. His career is on thin line just now was also not able to give the solution . He too struggled in opening slot. There is one more option in form of Virendra Sehwag but taking him in will risking the test. He hasnt done good in regional level got into the team by the help of Kumble request. Indian team had to decide about this probelm soon or it can prove fatal to them in future.
Lets us look on second test. It is to be played in Sydney on Sydney Cricket Ground where pitch really helps fast bowler the most so Indian Batsmen have to be more mental strong against the Aussie fast bowlers. Australia is the favourite in this test as they are in spectcular performance but if India plays with full strength they might defeat the Australia . We dont know what will happen but we know that the game will be exciting one.
Some interesting fact:
In 2002, when Australia visited India, they are on victory path and in Kolkatta test , it was lookin India will be falling into Follow on but Laxman not only saved Indian but put India into a situationw hich stopped Australia in their victory. It might that History is repeating itself once again. Might India will stop Australia but all thing is still to be discovered and Second test will start from 2nd jan to 6 jan. 2008.
