CHICAGO (AP) - An estimated 30,000 people are taking to downtown Chicago streets today for the annual Shamrock Shuffle run.
The eight kilometer road race is in its 29th year.
About 28,000 runners will navigate the five-mile course. Another 2,000 walkers will tackle a shorter five-kilometer walking route along the city's lakefront.
The event is considered the unofficial start of the city's outdoor running season.
