Canadiens Victory Ignites Montreal Passion and Bonfires

41 people were arrested in Montreal after Habs fans celebrated the Canadiens' Game 7 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

While welcoming the extra business, store and bar owners are concerned about escalating mayhem as the Montreal Canadiens enter the Eastern Conference final.

Montreal last saw hockey street chaos during the 2008 playoffs, whith storefronts getting trashed and cars set on fire.

Now some merchants worry about what awaits in the next series against Boston or Philadelphia. But they also acknowledge that the Canadiens’ great playoff run has electrified the city and boosted business.

No word on whether or not Habs fans have their own chien du riot.
