Aglar Valley, Jaunpur Block in keen contest in festival at Kempty

23rd Cultural & Sports Festival at Kempty Village
MUSSOORIE, 7 NOV: On the 2nd day of the ongoing 23rd Sports and Cultural Festival at Kempty Village near, here, organised by the ‘Aglar Ghati Krida and Sanskritik Vikas Samiti’ Kempty, the Senior Division Kabaddi and Volleyball matches were held in which the participants from the Aglar valley and Jaunpur Block keenly contested for the top positions. All the matches were held on league basis. Today’s programmes were coordinated by Kunwar Singh Chauhan.
Earlier in the day, the Samiti President Rajesh Nautiyal welcomed the Chief Guest and the invited guests on the occasion. The Chief Guest was Ratan Singh Gunsola, Zila Panchayat President. Also present was Jyoti Prasad Gairola, President, State Disaster Management Committee. The organisers presented the Chief Guest with a memorandum demanding a mini-stadium and a Polytechnic. Ratan Singh Gunsola announced the construction of a Zila Panchayat Guest House in Kempty on the occasion. Jyoti Gairola, replying to the demand for a Regional Polytechnic and converting this festival into a Tourism Mela, said that according to him the region has been neglected by the previous Congress government, but the present BJP regime would be sensitive to the development of the region. He promised he would place the demands before the Chief Minister with utmost sincerety. He also said that he would act as a bridge between the organisation and the government on the issue of development in the region.
The famous Jaunsari and Jaunpuri singer Mahendar Chauhan mesmerised the audience with his folk numbers. Local folk dancers of the region also displayed their talent, thus adding further colour to the festivity.
tate Irrigation Minister Matbar Singh Kandari visited festival later in the day. Jagat Panwar, Sabbal Singh Rana, Virendra Panwar, Narendar Panwar, senior BJP leader Vijay Ramola, Manoj Panwar, Sansar Singh Rana, JP Nautiyal, Siya Singh Chauhan, Kishan Singh, Rajendar Dangwal, Mahipal Singh, Jay Pal Singh and others were present on the occasion.
