Alexander Semin vs Marc Staal (A girly fight)

Washington Capitals forward Alexander Semin is known for his scoring, not his fighting. That became abundantly clear during a recent fight with Marc Staal of the New York Rangers.

Semin and Staal grappled in typical hockey style with each other throwing punches with one hand while holding on to their opponents jersey with the other. With Staal on the ground, Semin tried a new technique: slapping. Semin flailed away at Staal in a way that was less than flattering.

Have you ever seen anything like this from an NHL player? Semin looked like one of the gorillas from "Congo" trying to skull-crush an intruder. Or like Staal had just stolen his Nintendo DS, and Semin was doing the "give it back jerk" two-fisted cluster-pummel you see from aggrieved 13-year-olds. Or, as one YouTube comment read: "Semin looked like a transvestite beating up it's cheating boyfriend on jerry springer."

Semin is not the first offensive-minded player to get into a scrap this week. Earlier this week, Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby got into a fight with Florida's Brett McLean. Crosby's fighting style was also compared to Jerry Springer guests.

As you can see, Crosby's fighting style resembles that of a Jerry Springer guest who bum-rushes someone while they're coming on stage.

Although "fighting" is giving this a little too much credit; the last time we saw someone get jumped like this by a Kid, Ralphie's mother dragged him off of the school bully while he was crying. And just like Scut Farkus, all Brett McLean gets are a bloody nose and a very public embarrassment.

Of course, many fans are now wondering what a fight between Semin and Crosby would look like. You may not have to wait much longer. In the past, Semin and Crosby have exchanged trash talk. The next time the two meet it could result in the slap fight of the century.

This was a shot of him in warm ups prior to a game. I shoot at all the home games for the Florida Panthers. I have many pics available.

Both fights were embarrassingly hilarious.
