The American League wins the All-Star Game tonight 4-3 against the National League, extending their unbeaten streak to 13.

Curtis Granderson and Adam Jones produced the winning run in the eighth inning.

Carl Crawford was named the game's MVP after he preserved a 3-3 tie in the seventh by running full speed to the wall in deep left center, timing his jump and robbing Brad Hawpe of a home run.

The National League did have two runners in a scoring position in the eighth inning, but Joe Nathan struck out Ryan Howard to end the inning.

Both starters were laregely ineffective, as Roy Halladay of the AL gave upfour hits and three runs and Tim Lincecum of the NL yielded two hits and two runs, both of which came in the first inning as the AL jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

Derek Jeter scored the game's first run after President Obama threw the first pitch.

The National League has not won an All-Star game since 1996, but this was not to be their year either.
