Andre Agassi Crystal Meth Confession: Agassi Talks in New Book

In his new book Open, tennis star Andre Agassi admitted to using crystal meth during his playing days. According to Richard Deitsch of SI, the magazine will run an excerpt of the new Andre Agassi book that will outline his meth use. Deitsch announced the Andre Agassi SI excerpt on Twitter. The comment was taken down, which implies that he may have jumped the gun on the announcement.

The new Andre Agassi book is set to be released Nov. 9. Agassi will also be appearing on 60 Minutes to discuss the book (Here is a jpeg of the original Richard Deitsch tweet.)

SI tennis writer L. Jon Wertheim also made a reference to the Agassi, which doesn't make reference to the crystal meth revelation, but does imply that the book would be interesting.

In a few weeks, his autobiography, Open, hits the shelves (and the Amazon equivalent) and, from everything we've heard, this is not your standard sports book. We'll leave it at that. Except to say that you can be assured we'll be hearing more from Andre pretty soon.
