Andre Dawson was the only major league baseball player nominated and voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown this year. Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven came close but did not make the cut into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown this year.

Andre Dawson a power hitting outfielder produced impressive career statistics, receiving 420 of the 539 ballots east pushing him above the 75% vote required to make it into the Baseball Hall of Fame. It was Andre Dawson's 9th year of eligibility.

The Baseball Hall of Fame rules are essentially a mix of career stats and how many years players have been on the eligibility list. Baseball sports journalists vote on who then think should get in.

This year some big names were left off besides Roberto Alomar and Bert Blyleven, Barry Larkin was not voted in, Jack Morris was not voted in, neither was Alomar's former team mate with the Toronto Blue Jays, Fred McGriff, nor Andre Dawson's former team mate with the Montreal Expos, Tim Raines. Admitted steroid user Mark McGwire did not get voted in either, nor did Detroit Tiger pitching great Jack Morris nor Yankee first base all star Don Mattingly Like every other this list will likely stir up a lot of heated debate.

Here is the full list. Remember 75% is the cut off for an inductee better luck next year to everyone else.
