Annika Sorenstram Pregnant, LPGA Legend Expecting With Mike McGee

LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam announced "exciting news" on her Blog; she and newlywed husband Mike McGee are expecting their first child. The couple married just over two months ago on January 10, 2009.
"We have had a lot of exciting changes in the past few months, and adding a new addition to our family later this fall will certainly be at the top of that list," Sorenstam said. "We are absolutely thrilled and look forward to this new chapter of our lives."
Annika Sorenstram, who is represented by IMG talent agency, left the LPGA tour in 2008 after winning 10 major titles. Known as the Tiger Woods of the LPGA, Sorenstram's stated reason for retirement was focusing on starting a family. Mission accomplished!
Congratulations to Annika Sorenstram and Mike McGee! The couple is expecting the much anticipated baby number one sometime this fall.

Sorenstam has a clothing line with Cutter & Buck, a limited wine label with Wente Vineyards and a signature scent by SA Fragrances. The talented athlete is currently involved in two redesign projects, one at Patriots Point Links Course in Charleston, South Carolina and the other at Red Mountain Resort in British Columbia.

Annika Sorenstam had a good decision. I'm sure she'll be happy. After all Maria Verchenova, whom Annika dueled at the Dubai Ladies' Master might have taken Annika's place. Maria Verchenova, 23 years old, and a rising star of women’s golf have made a heavy impact in the Ladies European Tour. It was quite an achievement that she was the first Russian to appear on the tour. Verchenova was known for her fierce determination and an uncanny ability on the long ball, dueling with LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam at the Dubai Ladies’ Master. She won't likely need debt consolidation, as Maria Verchenova is primed for a long and distinguished career.
