Police Investigate Racist Tweets after England's Loss to Italy

It's bad enough to be Ashley Cole and Ashley Young right now: the Chelsea defender and Man U winger missed their crucial shootout kicks, costing England the semifinal match against Italy in Euro 2012.

Racism just makes it worse, and you can count on the internet to provide. One twitter user, apparently based in London, tweeted a series of racist rants against the two Ashleys. (The offending account, @lapwnage, has since been deleted.)

His later attempt to pass them off as jokes were not successful.

The British justice system has already demonstrated a willingness to jail people for racist tweets.

Note that the racism against Ashley Cole and Ashley Young is not limited to a single douchebag. Just searching for either of their names will unearth tweets that will challenge your faith in humanity.
