Aussie spinner tested +ve for Cocaine

New Aussie spin bowler Jason Krejza, in line for a Test debut in the first Test against India at Bangalore, has revealed that he was the victim of a drink-spiking incident that resulted in a positive drug test two years back.

Krejza, then a New South Wales player, said his drink was spiked at a nightclub three days before a game also featuring an in-competition dope test.

The off-spinner, according to an Australian newspaper, immediately informed NSW officials, who conducted an in-house urine test which showed traces of cocaine. Two tests over the next fortnight, however, proved clear, the report said.

“It was terrifying,” Krejza said. “It was a real shock when it all happened. My first reaction was to go through the correct channels.”
