As you may have heard, Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer in the Australian Open semi-final on Thursday, January 26, 2012. While the match was hailed as a classic, what many people are talking about is a catch made by a ballboy during the match.

The Australian Open ballboy catch came in the third set of the hotly-contested Federer-Nadal semi-final.

Federer hit a ball wide after a play had ended, the ballboy stretched out and caught the ball, earning applause from the crowd in Melbourne. The TV announcer even compared him to Ricky Ponting, a famous Australian cricket player.
