BAKERS NARROWS LODGE - AFTER THE FIRE
On February 04th, 2012 the long standing lodge building on highway 10 South at Bakers Narrows burnt to the ground. Many news reports and articles announced that the lodge had been destroyed which left many people thinking that Bakers Narrows Lodge was no longer in business. What the news didn't report was that Bakers Narrows Lodge also has 15 log cottages and another Club House Lodge Facility located on 26 acres of waterfront property behind the building that burnt down.
The fire did however leave Bakers Narrows Lodge without a commercial kitchen for meals at the restaurant as well as our laundry facility for the whole resort which left us without some important amenities for our guests.
We are pleased to announce that Bakers Narrows Lodge is in fact open for business and since the fire we have rebuilt a new commercial kitchen in our Club Hose Facility enabling us to not only feed our guests but also cater weddings being held at the lodge. Despite the fire in February we still hosted 9 weddings plus various meetings and conferences as well as an Artist's Retreat and a Quilter's Retreat at Bakers Narrows Lodge in 2012.
A new laundry facility has also been built at the lodge to replace what was lost in the fire along with a new washroom and shower house for guests to rinse off after a long soak in our outdoor hot tub.
The Baynton family who owns and operates Bakers Narrows Lodge just celebrated their 11th season of operation and they invite you to come join them at the lodge for a relaxing getaway in the heart of Northern Manitoba.
