Mushfiqur Rahim continued his exceptional form at the toss - winning his fourth of the tour - and chose to bowl on a damp day in Chittagong. Heavy rain on the eve of the match and a light drizzle this morning delayed the toss and the start by half an hour.
The covers were only taken off at 12.30 pm but the forecast was not great, with thunderstorms predicted for later in the day. For the moment, though, there was no reduction in overs and a sizeable crowd had cheered Mushfiqur's success at the toss.
With the series already won 2-0, West Indies made three changes to their XI. Lendl Simmons had a back problem and was replaced by Kieran Powell, Ravi Rampaul was replaced by Carlos Brathwaite and Devendra Bishoo by Anthony Martin. Adrian Barath had not recovered from his hamstring problem so West Indies were opening with Danza Hyatt and Powell.
Bangladesh also used the dead rubber to test their bench strength and made four changes to their team. They left out Mohammad Ashraful, Alok Kapali, Abdur Razzak and Rubel Hossain and replaced them with Shuvagata Hom, Suhrawadi Shuvo, Shahriar Nafees and Nazmul Hossain.
The difference between a win and a loss for West Indies is four rating-points on the ICC one-day rankings.
