Right from the start of this game Bangladesh were right on top of their opponents. After bowling Sri Lanka out for 232 rain tried to play spoil sport and resulted in a loss of ten overs. The strange calculations of Duckworth and Lewis meant that Bangladesh had to make 212 in 40 overs. The hosts were up for the challenge and Tamim Iqbal set the tone right from the start. As usual though the opener departed shortly after his half century. Shakib too played a good hand with a 50 but perished at a crucial juncture. It was the partnership between Nasir Hossain and Mahmudullah in the end that took Bangladesh across the finish line and saw them come out victorious

They were better than Sri Lanka in all facets today. The batsmen rejoice in the middle and are joined by their team mates who rush onto the pitch. The team is taking a victory lap now and the tournament isn't even over. That just shows how much it means to them to make it to the final. There is no doubt that Bangladesh were better than India and Sri Lanka and they fully deserve to meet Pakistan in the final. The crowd at Mirpur is on its feet and the celebrations are certainly going to carry on through the night.
