Barcelona beat Manchester United 3-1 and won the CL Trophy
After defeating Manchester United by 3-1 in the Champions League final at Wembley stadium on Saturday night, Barcelona took the trophy to their home. With this victory, Barcelona also proved themselves as the best team on the content.
This exciting and nail biting match was enjoyed by 300 million people around the world. However, in 2009, both the teams met each other in the final where the Spaniards beat the Red Devils.
This match was full of unpredictable as both teams had the equal opportunity to win the trophy. However, Manchester United players had to disappoint their fans as they failed to hold the trophy despite being the host team.
Pedro Rodriguez gave Barcelona lead after scoring a goal in 27 minutes. It brought smile in the face of Barcelona fans that went to see the match live on stadium. However, their smile did not last for long time as Man U striker, Wayne Rooney, leveled the scored in 34 minutes. So, the first-half finished with 1-1 and there was still some excitement left for the second half.
In the second half, Lionel Messi increased the distance scoring the second goal in 54 minutes. Man U players tried hard to get another goal but they failed. David Villa scored the third goal on 69 minutes and made it 3-1. It ensured Barcelona’s second victory in the Champions League in three years.
