The Bassmaster Classic 2010 winner, and he won easily, is Kevin VanDam. A superstar angler, Kevin VanDam reeled in the victory and $500,000 in prize money in the Bassmaster classic tournament at Lay Lake in Alabama.- a state that eluded victory for Vandam

But this is VanDam's third time winning the Bassmaster Classic tournament. He beat Jeff Kriet by five pounds

VanDam, the Kalamazoo, Mich., pro who won his fifth Bassmaster Angler of the Year award last year, had a catch of 19 pounds, 7 ounces Sunday to finish with a three-day total of 51-6. Kriet, from Ardmore, Okla., finished at 46-6.

The victory wasn't actually that difficult for Kevin VanDam as he choose the back of Beeswax Creek for his winning catches - the only tough part of the Bassmaster Classic for VanDam was was the weather.

"Well, this was a challenging week weatherwise. I've had a lot of success in Alabama over the years," VanDam said of his seventh Classic in the state. "It's always eluded me. I love fishing these lakes."

The Bassmaster Classic which some consider the Super Bowl of Bass Fishing started in 1971 and features 55 of the world top anglers.
