Mike 'Bastion Booger' Shaw: Former WWF Star Dies at 53
Professional wrestler Mike Shaw, most recently famous as Bastion Booger, has died on September 11 at age 53 from a heart attack. A pro softball player before switching sports, Mike Shaw began his pro wrestling career as Klondike Mike in Vancouver's NWA All-Star Wrestling in 1981.
Shaw then wrestled under the names Makhan Sigh and Norman the Lunatic for WCW, and then as Friar Ferguson the Mad Monk and Bastion Booger for the WWF, now the WWE.
Mike Shaw is survived by his wife and two children.
Shaw was trained by wrestling legend Killer Kowalski, and got his first break in Calgary's Stampede Wrestling as Makhan Singh, a rival of Owen Hart and Brian Pillman. He competed in WCW in the late 1980s as Norman the Lunatic, an escaped mental patient who feuded with Kevin Sullivan and challenged Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Championship.
