THREE NAMED AS HONORARY DIRECTORS: by Brian Zelley The British Columbia Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame has recently namedthree additional honorary directors including BOYD BAYNE and MANDY LAPOINTE with Prince George connections and KEVIN "Booper" MAUGHANfrom Nanaimo. Current administrators of the Hall are Ray Beaulieu, Scott Galloway,Steve Wood and Brian Zelley. Boyd Bayne has a long history as an official and coach in BC boxing.During the Eighties while living in the Greater Vancouver area, Boydserved as an official for BOXING BC. His spouse, JEAN BAYNE waselected as a director of Boxing BC in 1985, and son ALLAN BAYNEwas an excellent boxer that competed in the 1994 Commonwealth Games.In the early Nineties, Allan beame a two-time Golden Boy and was recentlyinducted into the BCABHOF. Boyd Bayne also was the head coch of the Spruce Capital Boxing Club of Prince George. KEVIN MAUGHAN is a former amateur boxer who was the firstNanaimo boxer to win the "Most Dedicated Boxer" award donated by Sid and Dorothy Runacres. MANDY LAPOINTE is a former champion amateur boxerfrom Prince George, and now living in Nevada and in recentyears, Mandy has returned to professional boxing. Boyd, Kevin and Mandy join others that were pickedas honorary directors in 2010 and 2011 including Alan Brown, Blake Scott, Dick Findlay, Freddy Fuller,Irene Brough, John Paonessa and Tommy Boyce.
